for sale: z71v barebones
hi all, i just recently got a shuttle xpc sd11g5 for very cheap, so i decided to take my cpu, wifi, and hd out of my laptop and throw it in the new shuttle for a centrino htpc desktop, LOL! that leaves my z71v mostly empty now, and i'm looking to sell it.
it's got the 128mb gf 6600 go and wsxga+ screen. no cpu, wifi, or hd. it's still in good working order, battery was replaced in october '06. battery light doesn't come on while charging, but it still charges the battery quickly to 95%, but the last 5% takes FOREVER. it's got the 8x dl dvd-rw. the ac adapter works fine, but the plug got snagged once and i had to fix it, so it looks a little ghetto. it's in used condition, i put many hours on it at college writing papers and playing games. there's a slight mark on the palm rest where i usually, you guessed it, rested my palms, and a slight bright-ish spot near the middle of the screen, but it's not a dead pixel. i'm including 1 gig ddr2 pc4200 dual channel (512mb x2 @533mhz) along with the drivers cd, asus dvd, nero oem, the s-video cable, and both the ide and sata adapters for the hd. i'm in NJ and will only ship to the "lower 48" in the US. i'll post pics, if not later today, tomorrow for sure. pic shows the cds, hd adapters, s-video to rca adapter, and some generic thermal compound since i removed the tim in favor of as5. there's still some left on the heatsink, but i'm not sure if it's enough. oh, and pricing... i'm asking $150USD + s&h, or best offer, i'm not parting with this for less than a c-note though. paypal is preferred though i'm willing to take a personal check, but be warned that i'll ask you to pay first and wait for the check to clear before i send it out. not that i don't trust you guys, but you know how it is. any takers? (edited to add pic and pricing info)

here are some pics of the unit. i tried to take the pic of the screen in a dimly lit room so that you can see the bright spot i'm talking about, it's only slight and i can only notice it on a pure black background with the lcd brightness all the way up. as you can see, the power adapter is a bit ghetto, i can include some heat shrink tubing if you wanna redo it yourself.

good to hear. i'm glad i sold it to a fellow asus enthusiast and that it's found a new home, that laptop served me well. truth be told, if i still had another laptop cpu/hd, i'd have just kept it, but i'm also saving up for a penryn-based mobile next year...
